About the Storage Challenge

We do not have a specific purpose or optimization goal. Instead, our lab can be used to analyse different storage systems, with a broad band of applicable purposes (self-consumption, peak shaving, island system,…) and optimization goals.

Our set-up includes a programmable power source, a wind and sun emulator, CHP and a free programmable loads, in a various number of set-ups that even may be configured to emulate a micro-grid. In addition, our lab includes a common DC bus, with supercaps, lead-acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries, enabling the possibility to test your storage system in combination with other storage systems in order to study both steady state and dynamic interactions.

In our case, the parameters presented below should therefore be interpreted as constraints, rather than requirements!
